History
In the fall of 2018, in the Town of Elmvale, a small group of individuals came together for a common cause. It had become apparent over many years that there was a need for Affordable Seniors Housing to serve Elmvale and the surrounding community.
This group decided to determine if the perceived need was indeed real, and met with several individuals and Community leaders and ascertained there was significant interest in pursuing the development of a Seniors Housing Facility.
Prior to proceeding, the group decided that it was critical to gauge the interest of the entire Elmvale Community in such a venture
On December 4, 2018 a Public Information meeting was held in the Elmvale Community Hall and a large crowd of approximately 125 people attended. Also, in attendance were Mayor Don Allen and Councillor George Cabral.
Subsequently a Comprehensive survey was carried out and over 150 persons responded. This gave the organizers a lot of Data on which to base their next steps. The Survey results are available here.
The next Steps involved searching for a suitable site. Numerous sites were investigated. A Preliminary Concept was also developed along with a list of Amenities that would benefit the future Residents.
